Govt continues “games”with Sarath Fonseka’s son in law Danuna Tillekeratne by getting Police to postpone inquiry after summoning him for one. Danuna was ordered by Police to present himself before CID on Jan 20th for inquiry into alleged arms deals but then told no inquiry today.
Police Spokesman SSP I.M Karunaratne told media that the DIG in charge of the CID had ‘too much work’ to do today & had put off. Police have summoned Danuna’s father Brig(retd) Tillekaratne to record statement. It is seen as part of plot to harass Fonseka’s relatives.
Meanwhile Colombo Fort Magistrate Ms.Lanka Jayaratne refused bail to a director of Hi-Corp the company allegedly owned by Danuna Tillekaratne. The Hi-corp director Wellington De Hoedt was arrested & remanded on a complaint made by Maj-Gen Manawadu alleging that fraud was committed.
Police compelled to withdraw summons for an inquiry as Sarath Fonseka’s son in law Danuna challenges the said order through his lawyers. Danuna Tillekaratne accused Police of being politically motivated in trying to frame him with false charges & refused to comply with summons
