Even on Al Jazeera, suspected perpetrators of genocide get the last word? Where is the ethics here? Have we become so de-sensitised to genocide that it is merely just another anomaly or problem that appears in this upside-down world? What need was there to give the former Sri Lankan ambassador of a suspected rogue government a chance to underscore his fascist government’s propaganda when both the women were far more articulate, informed and interesting. One of the women had even been down there to the trenches. By his own admission, the ex-ambassador had to freshen up his memory of the situation by speaking to the SL president! Does he have any credibility?

As a woman of Sri Lankan Tamil origins, I am so deeply grateful to discover such an enormously talented and sincere person as Jan Jananayagam working for the displaced Tamils.
