The government is attempting to recuperate for the wasteful expenditures incurred for the SAARC by way of introducing new taxes, opposition United national Party parliamentarian says.
Remarks of Tissa Attnayake MP, representing Kandy district in the Sri Lanka parliament is reported on Colombo Tamil daily Virakesari’s website.
Three new taxes tied to usage of mobile telephones, electricity and motor vehicles are being considered by the Government of Sri Lanka according to the Virakesari news report.
