Digging a well, Sri Lanka IDPs find skeletons

A mass grave, containing 20 skeletons bearing gunshot wounds, has been discovered this morning at Paalameenmeadu, Batticaloa near a Tsunami resettlement, reports Expressnews.lk, a website of Sri Lanka’s premier Tamil daily Virakesari.

The grave was found after the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who were engaged in digging wells near their camp, unearthed body parts in one of the wells last week.

Other reports say that the site, located 1.5 km from a Sri Lankan military post, was manned by police and later by the Sri Lankan Special Task Force (STF) and the Sri Lanka Army (SLA).
