Currently, UNOPS is participating in the joint rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts of the Governments of Indonesia and Sri Lanka and the United Nations in such areas as urban and rural infrastructure including road construction, irrigation, and construction of damaged/destroyed buildings. In support of its Government/UN partners, UNOPS is looking for qualified, experienced, energetic and committed individuals with strong work ethics who are willing to work in very difficult and demanding conditions. Qualifications Qualified candidates must be able to interact with colleagues and partners patiently and smoothly. The ideal candidates would have a genuine desire to see the reconstruction efforts succeed in both countries as well as willingness to train and advise to achieve that goal. At present, applicants are sought from qualified Civil Engineers and logisticians. Civil engineers are required in different regions of Sri Lanka and Indonesia, who will be responsible for urban/rural engineering works undertaken by local staff as well as capacity building for counterpart staff in survey, design, tendering, and contract supervision of civil works.
