Purnima/Full Moon
A Dance Program

Artistic director Hari Krishnan presents a contemporary
multimedia dance-work called Purnima/Full moon.
This full-length interdisciplinary work brings South
Indian court dance into an original, dynamic world of
music, film and light . Bridging movement, voice, text
and memory, Purnima/Full Moon reconfigures images
of the intoxication of new love, the romance of
courtship, and the longing of separated lovers using
the worlds of dance, music, film and light.

The ensemble cast will be joined by guest dancer
Srividya Natarajan. This exciting evening of solos,
duets and trios will be accompanied by live orchestra
with some outstanding local talents. Among the
wonderful artists at this event are percussionist Gowri
Shankar (on mirdangam) and violinist Thanadevy
Mithradeva.

Proceeds from the tickets bought through TCEF (Tamil
Children's Endowment Fund) will go towards building
homes for destitute mothers and children in the North
and East of Sri Lanka.
